The Genesis

Eric Berne

Transactional Analysis is a theory developed by Dr. Eric Berne (1910-1970) in the late 1950's. Berne, a medical doctor, specialized in psychiatry and understood the need for a theory to unravel the psychological mystery and to exemplify a sterling change in every aspect of human insight. The theory outlines how we have developed and treat ourselves, how we relate and communicate with others, and offer suggestions and interventions, which will enable us to change and grow. Transactional Analysis is underpinned by the philosophy that:
All people are born OK- as Princes and Princesses
Everyone is capable of thinking and being responsible of being a winner in life ( with the exception of the brain damaged )
Persons become the way they are - losing and struggling because of the decisions made early in life; it is possible for them to redecide
